Mission Bambini's Visit to Tanzania: Strengthening Partnerships for Children's Heart Health

We had the pleasure of hosting two representatives from the Italian non-profit organization, Mission Bambini.

Both are children's heart surgeons, Dr. Stefano and Dr. Carlo, who visited for an assessment and discussions regarding potential collaboration with The One New Heart Tanzania in providing heart treatment for needy children in Tanzania.

Mission Bambini was founded in 2000 and has been focusing on supporting children in need, particularly those in developing countries. Their mission is to provide access to education, healthcare and opportunities for a better future. They operate in various countries, providing medical care, education and child protection services.

One of their notable initiatives includes the Children’s Heart Program, which helps children born with congenital heart defects by providing surgeries, medical treatment and post-surgery care. They collaborate with international partners, often sending volunteer medical teams to countries where such healthcare is limited.

The goal is to ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow up healthy and educated, regardless of their socio-economic background.

They also visited our office and our ongoing project, Building a Children's Home in Dodoma, which will provide accommodation for needy children from other regions of Tanzania while they await hospital admission and surgeries.

The facility will also host visiting teams involved in research, children's heart treatment camps and awareness creation programs.
